When the boomers die off, assuming the world isn’t bankrupt by then, the next big car market will be Fast & Furious cars.
90s Supras / RX7s / DSMs, etc. The pricing on the few good ones left is already getting ridiculous, and will only get worse.
The 70s and 80s were rubbish from a cool car perspective, and things didn’t start getting good again until the 90s. So it makes sense.

I would say there was a dearth of great cars from the malaise era until the mid-80s, for domestics at least. Once you get to the mid-80s, you start to see vehicles like the GNX and others. Worldwide, that’s when the M3, M5, and M6 were introduced. It just took automakers a while to figure out how to deal with emissions.

Kids/grandkids often want the cars their parents had. My “Rosebud” is a Porsche 356B Super 90. My dad bought one used in Germany when he was young and single. Brought it back to Texas, was the car he had when he met my mom. Had to sell it when my oldest brothers were born...

Upon further reflection, I would like to add mid-80s / 90s BMW M models, as well as air-cooled Porches to the list. Especially the 993, they are already reaching bonkers levels, but still have room to go.
MK1 GTIs are also becoming rare, but I don’t see them getting too expensive.
